If I only had a Brain

Yesterday, Ellie reminded me why I started blogging in the first place.
Anyone that knows Ellie, knows that she has spunk, some might call it an attitude.  Yesterday, she and Paul were watching a video and up on the screen came a picture of the brain.  Paul tried to explain to Ellie what it was and then asked her if she had a brain.  Quite angrily, Ellie replied, "I don't have a brain!"

Oh Bugs!  Thanks for the good belly laugh.

My Snuggly Bugs

Oh my buggies, she comes alive at bedtime.  She wants one more hug, one more kiss, one more drink, one more bathroom break, one more story, one more something.  With all of her late night activities, it is one wonder that she needs to sneak in a little cat nap during the day.  I found her post-dance session stretched out on the living room floor.  She is wearing her favorite outfit, her princess swimsuit.
Those sweet eyes and that hidden ornery smile melt my heart every time.

Vamonos!

Diego and Dora (or Backpack, as Erica called her) have always been popular in this house.  We were beyond excited when their exhibit open at The Children's Museum.  We woke up early one weekend morning to be one of the first to arrive at the museum.  Enjoy some of our memories.  This exhibit is one of our favorites.

Ellie planted some flowers in Isa's garden.

Ethan disguised himself as a lady bug.

Erica and Ellie caught a ride from Baby Jaguar.

She was sailing the seas with the Pirate Piggies.

Erica was swinging through the trees in the rainforest.

All I want for Christmas is

my two front teeth.

wiggle it, just a little bit

and, it's out!

So proud to have pulled it himself.

I love it when the kids at school loose their two front teeth.  They beam with pride, and Ethan is no different.  He originally promised Erica that he would put his tooth under her pillow, so that she could get some money from the tooth fairy.  He later changed his mind.  Ethan is hoping to purchase a X-Box with the $1 from the tooth fairy.

Good thing she doesn't have a peanut allergy

Should I tell her that she needs a bag of M&Ms to go with that jar of peanut butter?

Post Op

Giraffe-e and Ethan went in for surgery on Thursday afternoon.  Giraffe-e got to stay with Ethan, however, this mom was ushered to the waiting room.  They were both troopers.  I think surgery is just as hard on moms as it is the patient.  Ethan did great and now he is home recovering.  He was welcomed home with a stellar, "Daddy Recovery Pack" of all his favorite things picked by daddy:  video games, Legos, cookie ice cream sandwiches, Panera soup, and rented movies from Redbox.

Now, my little guy has to rest.  No running, jumping, or lifting furniture to find a lost toy (yes, he did that).  No baths or showers for him. . . sponge baths only.  Some restrictions might be easier than others for a 6-year-old boy.

Three Dates

This family had a great Valentine's weekend.  Paul had three dates.  He had to take all of his girls out.

My favorites were delivered to school on Monday.  :)

Date #1 was to the Daddy-Daughter Dance.
(She wanted to wear the same dress she wore last year. Do you think she will do that when we are picking prom dresses?)

Date #2 Paul and I headed out for dinner and drinks with friends.

While Paul was on Date #3 with our Bugs, I had a date of my own.

Fun stuff.

Let Down Your Golden Hair

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Let down your golden hair.
Rapunzel is a favorite in our house, thanks to the movie Tangled.  Erica was lost in character this evening.  Luckily, I had the camera close by to capture it all.  Enjoy, I certainly did.

It was Magical!

It is certainly the happiest place on Earth.  We just returned from our trip to Walt Disney World (5 days off of school turned into 2 days off. . . thank you Mother Nature)!  Here are a few of our favorites from vacation.

Prior to breakfast in her castle

We stopped off of Route 66 in Radiator Springs.

Princess Tiana had to be one of the nicest people on Earth.

Paul has the best video of our visit with Buzz and Woody.  I will try to upload it later.  The girls told Buzz, "You are a toy!"  It was priceless.  Enjoy!  Hopefully, I will have more photos to come very soon.

You Should see the Other Kid!

Well, it wasn't a kid.  It was his reading book.  Don't ask me how, I'm still not sure, even after a few re-enactments.  We are super-excited for this "big-kid" moment.  He double and triple checked to make sure his tooth was tucked safely under his pillow for the tooth fairy.  We are anxiously awaiting his arrival tonight.  Yes, his arrival.  Ethan informed us that boy tooth fairies visit boys and girl tooth faires visit girls.

Just a side note:  I am trying to get my post together about our Disney trip, so much fun!  So many memories!  I can't wait to share them with you.
